Frequently asked questions.

What kind of background checks do your staff members undergo?

All staff members are thoroughly screened with background checks.

What are the qualifications of your counselors?

Our counselors are experienced educators or youth leaders with a passion for working with children, many of whom have previous camp counseling experience. Our staff is trained in CPR and first aid and are ServeSafe certified.

What should my child bring to camp?

Please refer to our packing list we send out prior to camp that will include items like reusable container, comfortable clothing, and a water bottle.

What will my child learn at camp?

Campers learn baking and decorating techniques, kitchen safety, basic food science, and how to follow recipes while strengthening math, reading, and problem-solving skills—all in a fun, hands-on environment.

What will my child do in the kitchen?

Campers take part in hands-on cooking each day, where they prepare their own lunch and afternoon snack. With the support of experienced instructors, children learn basic kitchen skills such as measuring, mixing, following recipes, and practicing kitchen safety. Campers are encouraged to be independent while receiving guidance and supervision, helping them build confidence and pride in what they create.

Is this camp just for kids who already like to cook?

Not at all! Our camp is designed for all experience levels. Whether your child is brand new to the kitchen or already loves to cook, activities are structured to help every camper feel successful and confident.

Is this camp nut-free?

We do not use peanuts or tree nuts in any recipes or activities, helping to create a safer space for campers with nut allergies.

How do you handle food allergies and dietary restrictions?

We take allergies seriously. Parents provide allergy information during registration, and our instructors carefully plan activities and ingredients with safety in mind.

Is the kitchen a safe environment for children?

Yes. Campers receive age-appropriate kitchen safety instruction and are closely supervised at all times. We use kid-friendly tools and reinforce safe practices throughout the day.

Are campers required to taste the food they make?

Campers are encouraged to explore new foods at their own comfort level. We encourage campers to taste what they create as part of the learning experience, while always reminding them that there is no pressure to eat everything—or to like it. To support this, we ask families to send campers with containers to take food home, along with backup lunches and snacks to ensure everyone stays comfortable and well-fed.
